We are going to make sure we do not discriminate against anyone in our short film. We will be doing this by using male and female actors and different races of people to make sure we target all of audience because our target audience is a range of different people so therefore we need to have actors that connote this and appeal to our audience. There will be no conversation that may come across as harmful to a certain race or person and there will be no discrimination against anyone in our film. Some of the ethical issues are :
Ethical issues
Discrimination
Offensive
Prejudice
how you will represent people and places
harmful
Stereotypes
We will also need to make sure we take into consideration the Legal issue as we do not want our short film to be removed from Youtube because of some of the legal issue. Some of the Legal issues are :
copyright patents act (1988)
intellectual property
Libel
Slander
Data protection act
Freedom of information.
The short film would be placed live on Youtube after 9 ( the watershed) because it is a certificate of 15 so therefore it would not be suitable for any young people that may still be awake and are under the age of 15. We will be using royalty free sounds so that we do not get accused of Copy Right and we need to make sure we are following the rule of Intellectual Property act.
It would be a legal issue for our short film so we would have to address this by getting permission off the actors. Also by getting them to sign and release and consent form to feature them in the film and get their permission for it. For example we would not be able to use a clips of the actors that we do not have permission for if we do this it could lead to the short film being removed form Youtube.
Also we need permission from locations to use them in the video. If we end up getting the bands contact details we will have to keep that information safe and protect it because its their personal information.
The BBFC ( British Board of Film Classification ) are an organisation that classify film and videos. This is needed as people of a young age could be revealed to inapropriate content and this could then also lead to complaints being made towards the film / video however BBFC stop this from happening as if anyway was to go to the cinema to see a film they would need ID to be able to purchase a ticket to see the film. Because it is only 15 we would not include anything that would fit into a higher category.
OFCOM ( Office of Communication ) also regulate video alongside other things such as TV and Radio. For the short film we would need to follow the rules of OFCOM so that the video is not taken down or reported. We would need to apply this to the short film , it is important that the video is appropriate for the audience and we need to make sure that the footage is not inappropriate and offensive.
