LO2: Footage in the style and conventions of the genre

As our genre for this short film is mystery we watched a short film based around that genre and looked at the similar conventions we had in ours. For example the film on YouTube used an insert shot which was something important in the narrative later on- as in our short film we used an insert shot which was for the audience to know what was happening as Evan was calling Arden to tell her something important which is useful to the narrative.

This short film on Youtube used a two person shot to set the scene of what characters were in it which could show importance throughout the film. In our film we added a two person shot with a medium close up to portray which characters were in the scene and why they were important. This is used commonly in mystery films as it is important of which characters are in the film to portray a meaning.

In my short film we used a location shot this was to break up the scenes and also set the location. This is similarly used in the short film we analysed as it shows a location shot to portray where the characters were. These shots are important and used commonly in a lot of films but a lot in mystery dramas.
