An example of us using mine en scene to set the mood are using different camera angles to capture the emotions on our characters face. This shows our characters with a blank expression on their face, however showing that something isn't right. The use of having a medium shot was used as it shows both facial expressions of the characters and their body actions.
Showing medium shots connote wider meanings as it not only gets the expression of their face but their body and the location of where they are. This shot is situated in the protagonists house as it is connoting that she is the main character.
Another example of how we created a meaning with mise en scene was one of our scenes which included a party. It shows that the. actors are at a. party due to the location, and props with the alcohol and music playing in the background. One of the characters emotions are portrayed in a medium close up and connotes that the character is in an unsteady move with her facial expression, showing sthat she is doing something that she doesn't want to. this could denote to the reader that something bad is going to happen through the end of the story
The use of the dim lighting also sets the location within mile en scene as it allows the audience to know what time of day it is and could be portraying danger through the use of dim lit lighting.
A final example of how meaning was created through mine en scene is connoting who the main portogist is through the use of her costume, props and the mood she sets when she's in the shot. As you can tell from the costumes that the main protaonigst is high maintenance and mot likely to be the most popular one in the group with the use of er fluffy jacket and the attitude she appears to have when talking.
Using a medium close up was important in this scene as it shows her full emotion and looks non chalet through her expression.
